I got a birthday package from my buddy this week. It was stylishly decorated and smartly wrapped, as always—you’ve really got a knack for that! The post card as embellishment is a really nice touch. I’m loving the colors on the scarf and tank top, they’re making me think of vacation. And I’m really excited to use the magnetic “Polaroid” frames. I used to use my Polaroid camera quite a bit up until a a couple years ago, so this is a fun alternative. Your package is gorgeous and heartwarming, thank you so much, buddy.

I got another package from my Buddy this week. While I don’t really celebrate Easter any more, I do celebrate food, so happy Easter to me. Chocolate! Candy! Hard-boiled eggs! What’s not to love? The bunny melted a little bit as a result from being in my house these past couple days—it’s been warm in these parts and we tend to keep our air conditioner off until the humidity is over 100%. So when I unwrapped the foil I was met by a bunny head that was crushed into a bunch of tiny, melt-y bits, while the rest of it was intact. So I did what any good food worshiper would do and threw the broken bits on top of my homemade peanut butter ice cream. Perfection. I made sure to share the rest of the chocolate. As you can tell, we’re fans around these parts. Thanks, buddy! Happy Easter to you, if you celebrate it, and if not (or even if you do), happy eating!

Oh, oh hi. So yesterday was a great day for mail. I came home (from working my last day at my old job!) to find a package from my buddy as well as a card from my friend living and working in Thailand. My buddy got me a couple goodies from Anthropologie, my favorite store (though the few things I have from there come straight from the sale section) other than a grocery store. She got me a mug in my favorite color with my initial on it which I clearly couldn’t wait to fill with tea (I drink a lot of tea. A lot.), a stone necklace which will be great for the holidays when I make myself more presentable, and a few reusable bags from Threadless. Can I just say I love giving and receiving reusable bags as gifts? I’m all about bringing my bags with me to the grocery store or farmer’s market and these are way more fun than the regular old bags I have with various grocery store logos on ‘em. Can’t wait to break all these babies in. Thank you so much, buddy! Everything is perfect, really. And finally, I liked the Thai stamp so much that I cut it out and put it on my bulletin board. Baby elephants! I am six.

This post card greeting brought to you by my lovely tumblr buddy. I love receiving mail, especially in post card form. The best part of this is that I was just driving home from work about an hour ago thinking about how much I want need to go backpacking again asap. This of course led me to thinking about Colorado and the mountains that I so know and love, which made me happy, but restless with pining for them as I so naturally do any time I start to think about ‘em (I’ve been lucky enough to get to know many of the world’s mountain ranges, but the Rockies are my first love). I got home to find this waiting for me and—just like that—my buddy brought Colorado to me. Thanks so much, bud. Tell the mountains I said hello!
